The Lemelson-MIT Program is soliciting referrals of potential undergraduate and graduate student applicants for the 2016 Lemelson-MIT Student Prize. The Lemelson-MIT Student Prize honors promising collegiate inventors around the country. The student prize is open to teams of undergraduate students and individual graduate students who have inventions in categories that represent significant sectors of the economy. Inventions can address opportunities in both developed and developing economies. Student applicants must be a full-time, matriculated, degree-seeking student in the Spring semester of 2016 at a U.S. college or university. Postdocs, audit students, and alumni are not eligible. Applicants should also be a named inventor on all inventions entered into the competition and should consider environmental sustainability as an important factor in their inventive work. In preparation for the 50th anniversary of the Free Speech Movement during the 2014 fall semester, a new, interactive website has launched featuring a visual history of the momentous events of 1964. Hogan fund makes money available to students with disabilities who have been offered an internship opportunity and who are in need of financial assistance in order to realistically pursue the work experience. Disability-related needs include transportation, housing attendant care, and interpreter and reader availability. Work experience for students with disabilities is essential to prepare students for the realities of the work world. The Prytanean Society was founded at Berkeley in 1901 to recognize Cal women undergraduate students who demonstrate faith, service and loyalty to the University Of California, Berkeley. INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL STUDIES UNDERGRADUATE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP Description: IIS is seeking to award a series of merit scholarships of up to $2000 each to support undergraduate research in any area of international studies.Research may be conducted independently, in congruence with an honors thesis, or while studying abroad. The scholarship recipients will be called IIS Junior Scholars. After completing their research projects, Junior Scholars are required to submit a four-page research summary and attend the IIS Junior Scholars Conference held in May 2014. Junior Scholars will present their work in poster format at the conference. Junior Scholars with the strongest research project will each receive an additional $1000 prize.
