This year the Center for the Study of Representation will award  four research grants   of $500 each to U.C. Berkeley undergraduate students who are conducting research on an aspect of American politics, including public opinion, electoral behavior, civic participation, government institutions, social movements, and public policy. Students from a broad range of disciplines are encouraged to apply. The grant may be used to cover research expenses such as traveling to Washington, DC, to interview lawmakers; buying a dataset; or covering photocopying costs at an archive. The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF) has been providing grants to campus sustainability projects for 9 years, ranging in topic from education & behavior change, energy conservation & efficiency, food justice & sustainability, transportation, water conservation, to waste reduction, and much more.   Past projects you might have seen around campus include the Berkeley Student Food Collective, BicyCal, the CoC chemical recycling program, the Berkeley Art Studio clay recycling program, the Student Organic Garden Association, and even those awesome water bottle refilling stations around campus.    Applications are due Friday, October 21st.   For more information on past grants and the application process, visit our website here . The Center for Race and Gender (CRG) at the University of California Berkeley, announces the availability of grants of $200 to $1500 for graduate students for research or creative projects that address issues of race and gender. Topics should be consonant with CRG’s mandate to support critical research on race, gender, and their intersections in a wide variety of social, cultural, and institutional contexts, especially on the Berkeley campus and its neighboring communities, but also in California, the nation, or the world. Proposals that address both race and gender will are strongly preferred, and proposals that do not address race at all will be de-prioritized. The College of Environmental Design is now accepting applications for National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) STUDENT TRAVEL GRANTS for the 2015 NOMA Conference , October 15-17 in New Orleans, Louisiana. CED students can be awarded up to $600. Applications are due via email to Kathleen Pera by the last day of instruction: May 8th, 4:00 PM.

1) (rolling deadline) History--Undergraduate Research Grant Sponsored by the Friends of Cal History, this grant offers up to $750 for research-related expenses, including but not limited to travel, incurred by undergraduate History majors. The grant is for those students enrolled in History 101, the required senior thesis. Although the deadline is usually around the sixth week of classes of each semester, in fact applications are accepted until the funds have been disbursed. 2013 Green Fund Grants and Sustainability Award Nominations now open! CACS Green Fund Grants Apply for a grant for up to $2,000 for a campus sustainability project. The annual Chancellor's Green Fund Grant program enables members of the UC Berkeley campus community to undertake projects that will create a greener, more environmentallysustainable campus -- while saving resources and money in the process. CACS is currently focused on improving sustainability in the areas of green labs, waste reduction and diversion, water conservation, and greening purchasing practices. Grants that address these focus areas are of particular interest to CACS. With funding, you are able to spend all summer working on a project that you are passionate about, so that you can produce something you are very proud of.
