Lavender Graduation Special Announcement - Speaker Invite & Registration
The Gender Equity Resource Center and our partners are excited to invite you to the Lavender Graduation Celebration. Everyone, and we do mean everyone, is invited!! Below is information on how to register and how to become a student speaker at the event.

Time -- 6pm Reception, 6:30-8:30 Ceremony

Lavender Graduation, now in its 13th year, is the UCB end of year celebration honoring UC Berkeley’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer graduating seniors, graduate students and allies. Everyone is invited to attend and celebrate the end of the academic
Registration: Please fill out the registration form on the webpage to let us know you are attending. It is particularly important for us to know the number of graduates so we may have a count for the rainbow tassels. The 2013 Lavender Graduation Celebration Planning Committee invites you to apply to be a speaker at this year’s LGBTIQQA graduation celebration, to be held on April 26 at 6:00 pm in the Alumni House.
This year’s scheduled keynote speaker is California State Assembly Speaker and UC Berkeley
Alumnus,John Pérez (D-Los Angeles).
Speakers will be chosen based on service within the campus or off campus LGBTQ community, cogency and invocation of memory. We also value a diversity of speakers thus consideration will also be given to the communities the applicant brings to hir speech. Please prepare your remarks to be no longer than 5-8min.
If you are interested, please complete the attached application and send it to Billy Curtis no later than
Noon, Wednesday April 10, 2013. We will inform you if you were chosen to speak no later than April 17.
