The Berkeley Builds Capacity Project is Looking for a Part-Time Comic Book Illustrator

Part time Job as Comic Book Illustrator, $400 per job
The Berkeley Builds Capacity project at University Health Services is looking for a part-time illustrator to design and illustrate our sexual health comic book series, True Story. We produce approximately one comic book per month during the semester (no books during academic breaks, including December and summer). Each book takes approximately 30-40 hours of work and the illustrator will receive $400 per book.

The ideal candidate for this job:
· Has experience and talent in the graphic arts, specifically comic books with a strong understanding of anatomy, composition, and color
· Has experience working with the Adobe Suite, in particular Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign
· Can depict a story with minimal detail in a genuine and appealing manner
· Can work within a template according to the specifications of a printer; familiar with bleeds, cropped sections, and other printing requirements
· Can meet deadlines
· Can communicate clearly about workflow, provide updates, and prepare drafts during their design process · Responds well to critical and positive feedback
· Is respectful of diverse identities
· Is respectful of sensitive, personal topics
