Meet
the Cal Energy Corps students as they reflect on
their experiences and lessons learned during
their internships across the world. They will
share a wide variety of exciting projects - from
developing more efficient cook stoves in coastal
Nicaraguan villages, to analyzing the world
solar PV market in China, to turning waste into
biodiesel in Ghana.
The Cal Energy Corps is an undergraduate internship program created to engage the best and brightest students from UC Berkeley in the design, development, and delivery of sustainable energy and climate solutions across the world.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Arun Majumdar
Dr.
Majumdar served as the first Director of the
Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy
(ARPA-E), the US agency devoted to
transformational energy research and
development, from October 2009 to June 2012. In
addition, he served as the Acting Under
Secretary of Energy. Prior to joining ARPA-E,
Dr. Majumdar was the Associate Laboratory
Director for Energy and Environment at Lawrence
Berkeley National Laboratory and a Professor of
Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science and
Engineering at UC Berkeley. His highly
distinguished research career includes the
science and engineering of energy conversion,
transport, and storage ranging from molecular
and nanoscale level to large energy systems. In
2005, Dr. Majumdar was elected a member of the
National Academy of Engineering for this
pioneering work.
