Opportunity for Paid Planning Survey Work in Berkeley this Week Hi all, DCRP alums Kevin Shively and Michael Rhodes of Nelson/Nygaard are seeking help with transport-related intercept survey work in Berkeley on Thursday, April 4th and Saturday, April 6th. This is a great opportunity to learn about intercept surveys and be paid too! They are doing work with the City of Berkeley on the travel, vehicle ownership and parking patterns of local residents. The pay rate would be $16 per hour, for the following schedule: Wednesday, April 3rd Training in Berkeley 4:30-5:30 pm. Thursday, April 4th and Saturday April 6th 6:30-9:30 AM (arriving at survey sites at no later than 6:15 AM), and 3:30-7:30 pm (arriving no later than 3:15 PM) Note that most surveyors will work in pairs. Each year the Black Students in Health Association (BSHA), the Chicanos/Latinos in Health Education (CHE), and the Pilipino Association for Health Careers (PAHC) of UC Berkeley unite forces to host the Minorities in Health (MIH) Conference. The goal of the conference is to educate students on health disparities that affect our communities and find ways to decrease these disparities by encouraging and inspiring both high school and undergraduate students to strive toward higher education and ultimately careers in health. On Saturday April 6, students will have the opportunity to network and interact with a variety of health professionals, medical students and graduate students from schools such as Stanford, UCSF, UC Berkeley and throughout the Bay Area. Extensions will be available for health clearance forms and proof of passport application.
