The Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology is engaged in a wide range of dynamic new projects and investigations ranging from new course development to applied research projects. Work ​-​study students, interns, researchers, and visiting scholars contribute as part of CET’s extended team. ​ ​ CET is currently looking to fill a part ​-​time student position ​to support and grow our social media communication as well as support the editing of CET's communications and research. ​Required skills include professional experience working in and/or with social media platforms, experience managing successful social media campaigns, and strong writing and editing skills. Experience using constant contact is a plus. The salary is $15 per hour. Work-study eligibility is preferred. The Alliance to Save Energy's PowerSave Campus Program seeks a student with an interest in energy efficiency for the position of PowerSave Campus Project Coordinator beginning September 2013. The Project Coordinator will join a team of fellow student interns to design and implement energy efficiency projects based on low-cost technologies and no-cost behavior changes, as well as the education of campus students, staff, and faculty members on energy conservation. Students will determine their specific objectives and workload through ongoing consultation with teammates, team managers, and Alliance to Save Energy's campus lead. The weekly workload for the Project Coordinator position will vary between 5 and 15 hours per week and is compensate at $11 per hour. Here's a special note for your students who plan to enter the Spark Concept Awards during the Spring semester: The Spring Early deadline is next week, on April 15. If students would like to have the lowest entry fees of the year, they shouldn't miss this deadline. If their project is not finished yet, students can still take advantage of this low Earlybird entry fee. They just need to register at the site, pay the fee and submit temporary descriptions and photos to the competition. They can come back at a later time, when the project is finished and upload the correct media. This will give students until the final deadline on June 17 to upload the finished work. The project’s aim is to explore the American landscape from the perspective of abandoned railroads, traveling by bicycle, and to illuminate a (new) line, drawing it as we go. The cartographer will gain skills creating historical and contemporary American maps, critically explore American history in the mid-19th c. through the lens of railroad development and national transportation infrastructure, have an opportunity for creative as well as analytical input, receive credit upon publication or public showings of the completed art project, and have the opportunity to become involved with other aspects of the project. INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL STUDIES UNDERGRADUATE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP Description: IIS is seeking to award a series of merit scholarships of up to $2000 each to support undergraduate research in any area of international studies. Research may be conducted while in EAP, or independently. The scholarship recipients will be called IIS Junior Scholars. After completing their research projects, award recipients are required to submit a four-page research summary and attend the IIS Junior Scholars Conference held on-campus at the end of the 2012-2013 academic year. Several Junior Scholars will be asked to present their work in poster format at the conference.
