Upcoming screening of Unfinished Spaces, a wonderful documentary that explores the rise and fall of Cuba’s avant-garde National Art Schools project. We will be presenting the film at the Vogue Theater in partnership with the San Francisco Neighborhood Theater Foundation in celebration of Latino Heritage Month. Architect and architectural historian John Loomis will lead a post-screening discussion about cultural inheritance, architecture, and preservation in Cuba. The screening will take place on Saturday, October 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $10 for Heritage members and students and $12 for the general public. Employer Leroy Howard is looking for an attendant for his Fine Art Exhibit at the St. Mark's Church in Berkeley; the exhibit highlights photography pieces that focus on a religious narrative for Easter and the Holy Week. The exhibit will run on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 2pm-6pm on the upcoming weeks as follows: Friday 3/30, Saturday 3/31, Sunday 4/1 Friday 4/6, Saturday 4/7, Sunday 4/8 Friday 4/13, Saturday 4/14, Sunday 4/15 Friday 4/20, Saturday 4/21, Sunday 4/22 Duties require the attendant to monitor the exhibit, ensure that none of the artwork is touched or removed from the display locations, and notifying staff or police in the event of unexpected circumstances. Fairbanks Art and Nature Park. Graduate and undergraduate students and emerging professionals in the fields of art, design, architecture and performing arts are encouraged to apply to customize and reside on Indianapolis Island. Anchored in the 35-acre lake within 100 Acres, Indianapolis Island is a habitable “off-the-grid” structure accessible by rowboat. At about 20 feet in diameter, the island serves as an experimental living structure that examines the daily needs of contemporary human beings.
