SmithGroup Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship Program We have created the  SmithGroup Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Scholarship Program  to support and mentor students from historically underrepresented demographics in architecture, interior design, planning, landscape architecture and engineering.  The program’s mission is to provide these students with the opportunity to attain their professional goals while advancing the architecture/engineering/construction (AEC) industry and improving the built environment. This scholarship includes a one-time award of $6,000 to offset the student's tuition at their current academic institution (5 scholarships are awarded each year). Dear undergraduate students in the arts and humanities, I am writing to let you know about a valuable information session that will address prizes, scholarships, and opportunities to obtain funding for research and creative projects in the arts and humanities.   Honors theses and the below-listed opportunities will be addressed briefly in the first half hour, by departmental advisors (among them Ken Mahru from English) and those who run some of the programs (among them Leah Carroll, Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarships -- URAP, Haas Scholars, and SURF; Siti Keo, Mellon-Mays Undergraduate Fellowship, and Juan Esteva, McNair and Firebaugh Scholars Programs). ULI – the Urban Land Institute is an independent global nonprofit supported by members representing the entire spectrum of real estate development and land use disciplines. The ULI Fall Meeting is the only event that brings together leaders from every sector of the real estate industry. The San Francisco Construction Specifications Institute Foundation, Inc. proudly offers scholarships to sophomore or above college students with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above and enrolled in a school of architecture, design, engineering, or construction in California. Eligible students must have declared a major of Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Design, Landscape Architecture or a construction industry profession. March 25, 2015 The AIA/F Diversity Advancement Scholarship provides assistance to high school graduates, college freshmen, and community college students from a minority and/or financially disadvantaged background who intend to pursue a NAAB-accredited professional degree in architecture. We are now accepting applications via SlideRoom for the 2015 AIA/F Diversity Advancement Scholarship. Please visit the 2015 AIA/F Diversity Advancement Scholarship web page for more information, including eligibility requirements. Since 2001, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation (JKCF) has offered full scholarships to exceptional, low-income students for high school, college, and graduate school. The Foundation has funded 1,900 students, and 200 more are selected each year. All together, Cooke scholars have so far received more than $130 million--an average of $68,000 per student. The Young Scholars Program will begin accepting applications from 7th graders next week and will do so through the end of April. We are sponsoring a $1,000 scholarship(s) for a deserving student(s) wishing to pursue a career(s) related to the construction management industry. Construction management related careers include management/engineering positions at general contractors, subcontractors, architectural/civil engineering firms, and the general construction industry.  This scholarship is open to current college students who will be enrolled in an undergraduate program with a junior or senior standing at an academic 4-year institution (transfer students are eligible). The applicant’s course of study should be in an academic field related to the construction management industry (ex: Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Urban Planning). We are now accepting 2015-16 academic year applications for the Markowski-Leach Scholarship. The award is for eligible LGBT entering, undergraduate, and graduate students at UC Berkeley, Stanford, San Francisco State, and UCSF. Thanks to a generous 2014 bequest, the awards will now be $2,000 annualy (awarded incrementally by term). The initial award is made for up to two years after which re-application is possible. The American Institute of Architects, Northwest Washington Chapter, is receiving applications for it’s scholarship award.  Applicants must have a home address in Whatcom, Skagit, Island or San Juan Counties, and be a Junior or above (in the 2014-15 academic year) in an accredited School of Architecture.  We will be able to offer up to $2000 in Scholarships this year.  Deadline for applications is July 1, 2014 .
