How would you like to put your work in front of working professionals? Here's your chance! The upcoming Centennial Alumni Dinner needs tablescapes--something that provides visual interest and lights the tables.One design will be chosen and replicated to be featured on all the tables at the Alumni Dinner at Campanile Plaza on Saturday, 9/28.Entries are due by 9am Monday September 16th in 315C. A faculty jury will decide the winner later that morning. Parameters are as follows: 22" diameter max must use cardboard or e-flute must be in auto cad format and imported into CADCAM laser template must take no more than 10-15 minutes to build must build one example for judges must have a light source or space for a small battery-powered light winner must commit 5-6 hours to build replicas of design the weekend of 9/21-22 individuals or two-person teams allowed to enter

A UC Berkeley led internship program that provides UC Berkeley students with the opportunities to work with local East Bay industries--start ups, mid-size enterprises as well as large companies. Bio-Manufacturing to Market program is run through the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and guided by PI, Professor Phil Kaminsky, Chair, of Industrial Engineering & Operations Research on campus. It's funded by DOE's Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy Office for Advanced Manufacturing and is part of a multi-partner grant awarded in late 2012 called the "Advanced Manufacturing Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge grant." The Alliance to Save Energy's PowerSave Campus Program seeks a student with an interest in energy efficiency for the position of PowerSave Campus Project Coordinator beginning September 2013. The Project Coordinator will join a team of fellow student interns to design and implement energy efficiency projects based on low-cost technologies and no-cost behavior changes, as well as the education of campus students, staff, and faculty members on energy conservation. Students will determine their specific objectives and workload through ongoing consultation with teammates, team managers, and Alliance to Save Energy's campus lead. The weekly workload for the Project Coordinator position will vary between 5 and 15 hours per week and is compensate at $11 per hour. An application for the Spring 2014 UC Berkeley Washington Program is now available online, at: http://ucdc.berkeley.edu Each Fall and Spring, the UCB Washington Program sends undergraduates to Washington, D.C., to complete academic research projects of their own design, and to participate in internships related to their research. The Program is open to juniors and seniors in any major, and graduating seniors may participate during their final semester at UCB (but not after they actually graduate). To apply, you must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and have junior or senior standing in the semester you plan to attend. You must also have taken at least two upper-division courses on the UC Berkeley campus, which provide background for the topic you intend to research. Student enrollment for a free year of membership in APA’s Early Career Program begins August 23 and ends September 27. Most of the materials you need to enroll is here . Who is eligible for a free year of membership? Every undergraduate and graduate student matriculated for the Fall 2013 semester is eligible, as long as he or she: -Is a full-time planning student, and -Is younger than 35 at the time of enrollment, and -Has never been an APA member.
