Annual Conference & Awards Banquet
The American Society of Architectural Illustrators challenges its members to become better illustrators, and rewards the architectural community and the community at large with a higher standard for visual communications. Each year in October, ASAI holds a worldwide conference in the home town of the acting president, providing an environment for the open exchange of ideas and practices, as well as many educational opportunities. The conference spans several days and offers workshops, seminars, sketch tours and more for all those interested in the pursuit of excellence in architectural visualization. Illustrators and Architects gather to spend time with industry peers and associates from around the world as they participate in conference events.
Venue and Speakers
Holiday Inn Golden Gateway has been reserved for ASAI programs. We have invited Tia Kratter, Art Director at Pixar Animation Studios, John Shulters and Robert Becker to present lectures. The panel at SPUR titled "Drawing in the Digital Age" will consist of Tim Culvahouse, John Kriken FAIA, Michael Wilis, and Gil Gorski ASAI.
Architectural Illustration Expo
This year, for the first time ever, ASAI will be hosting an "Architectural Illustration Expo" at the San Francisco AIA offices. Meet and greet architectural illustrators and industry professionals involved in the visualization and depiction of buildings and visit vendor/product displays from AEC vendors to portfolio reviews this is sure to be the premier event for those interested in drawing and illustrating architecture in any medium.
Exhibition Opening Reception
Gather for the ceremonial opening of Architecture in Perspective 28. All the award winners and many guests will make this an event not to be missed. Taking place in the beautiful exhibit gallery at Gensler Architects local office. They have generously provided their space for the 2 month long exhibit. Note: office and exhibit space is not open Saturdays.
Awards Banquet
Join awarded architectural Illustrators for the Architecture in Perspective 28 awards banquet. In long standing tradition, the silent auction, will be held before the awards banquet and is an opportunity for everyone to submit a sketch from the week or other piece of architectural illustration to be auctioned off to benefit ASAI.
