Global Poverty & Practice Minor - Info Sessions and Application

You are invited to attend a Global Poverty & Practice Minor Information Session!
The GPP Minor gives students an opportunity to investigate contemporary forms of poverty, wealth and inequality through academic coursework and practical experience. Students in the Minor study poverty and responses to poverty in a historical and global context, and develop critical thinking skills that support their ethical and reflective engagement in poverty action.
The "Practice Experience" is a central component of the Minor in which students partner for a minimum of five weeks, with non-governmental or community organizations, government agencies, or other poverty or development programs domestically or internationally. This real world experience allows students to connect theories and practices of poverty action. Fellowship funding is available to support students’ practice experiences.
The deadline to declare the Minor this semester is Tuesday, March 5th. There are no prerequisites to declare.

Our Information Sessions will provide an overview of the Minor and demonstrate how students from all disciplines can benefit from it.
All sessions will be held in Blum Hall 100A/B, on the following dates:
Tuesday, February 5th, 12pm -1pm
Wednesday, February 13th, 11am – 12pm
Friday, February 22nd, 11am – 12pm
Tuesday, February 26th, 5pm – 6pm
Thursday, February 28th, 12pm – 1pm
