Important Updates to Advising Services
Happy New Year from the Undergraduate Advising Office! We hope you had a fun and relaxing holiday break.
We are writing to communicate changes to our advising services this spring semester. Due to staff transitions, our advising office has been temporarily reduced by 50% of the full time advising staff. To minimize the impact on your access to advisors we are implementing changes to advising services, as listed below.
For the Spring 2020 term, Heather and Omar will not be responding to general questions via email. If you have general questions regarding policy, processes, degree requirements, or advising hours please email email@example.com, instead of individual advisors. This will minimize the delay in receiving a response to your inquiry. Please note: this email should be used for questions that do not require review of your personal academic record.
For a timely response to specific questions, please schedule a 20-minute same-day appointment or come in during drop-in hours, see details below.
Starting Tuesday, January 21st the advising office will shift from drop-in services only to limited drop-in hours and 20 minute same-day appointments.
*In addition to Mondays, in February we will be closed Tuesday through Friday from 10-noon due to Transfer Admissions Review. A detailed February schedule will be posted at the advising front door by the end of January.
Same-day appointments are appointments that can only be booked the morning of that day. Students can book a 20-minute same-day appointment starting at 7:45am Tuesday-Thursday with appointments running from 10am-noon and 1-3:30pm. Appointments can be made in Cal Central in a students "Academics" tab under "Advising>New Appointment." See step by step instructions here .
We appreciate your support, patience and understanding during this time of transition.
