Open Course: Chicano Studies Artistic Production, Spring 2020

This course examines contemporary Xicanx/Latinx artistic production, from early-1980s to the 2010s, through an examination of the historical, aesthetic and philosophical foundations of these artistic movements. 1racing the inspira­tions of contemporary Xicanx and Latinx art from the Chicana/o Art Movement and Latin American Contemporary Art to understand how the development of these movements were part of a political, cultural, and social revolution. Students will have the opportunity to take what they learn from lecture and discussion and work on an art project on campus.
