EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Dear Students,

CED M.Arch. alumnus, Nick Karklins, shared this information about openings at the State Department for Foreign Service Facility Managers:

This is a great position with incredible benefits far beyond the salary (free housing in very nice homes, college tuition pay-back, endless travel opportunities, etc).  I work on projects in new facility construction, landscape design, historic preservation and more. Several of us have backgrounds in architecture, and though the vacancy advertisement may not be explicit in highlighting design opportunities, there is plenty of opportunity for design and a lot of decision making power as the only subject matter expert on the ground. The starting salary while posted overseas is closer to $70,000-$100,000.

Nick (KarklinsNS@state.gov) said he would be happy to connect with CED students to talk more about the job.
