Work Study Positions at The Global Urban Humanities Office 

The Global Urban Humanities Initiative is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting and Administrative Assistant and a design-savvy Communications Assistant to work in our office at Wurster Hall. Tasks will include submitting purchase and reimbursement requests to ERSO, designing outreach materials and managing our social media, and general office and event support. Both positions are 5-8 hours week and we are seeking students who can work through the 2019-2020 academic year. Please see the attached PDFs for more information. Communications Assistant
5-8 hours per week, July 2019- May 2020
$15.59 per hour
Global Urban Humanities Initiative

The Global Urban Humanities Initiative brings together scholars and students in environmental design and the humanities to study cities. We are looking for a detail-oriented communications assistant to work in our office at Wurster Hall. They will be responsible for graphic design and social media coordination. Tasks may include updating the program website, coordinating weekly social media posts in Hootsuite and designing outreach materials, such as event flyers and posters. Administrative tasks and event support may be assigned as well. Some tasks may overlap with the Accounting and Administrative Assistant.

The position is 5-8 hours a week and we are seeking someone who can work through the 2019-2020 academic year. Sophomores preferred, but we will consider all classes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
● Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
● Dedicated and cheerful problem solver, good at understanding bureaucratic processes.
● Fluency of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and good design sense.
● Experience updating websites. HTML knowledge is desired but not required
● Fluency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint. Excellent communication skills, including email etiquette.
● Technology lover unafraid of recalcitrant office machinery and complicated online forms.
● Familiarity with Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Ability to help with event planning and support. We would like candidates to be
available to work at major GUH events (ex: symposium, open house).
● Experience with ERSO procedures and some knowledge of Bearbuy. Interest in accounting and bookkeeping is a plus.

2019-2020 academic year. Sophomores preferred, but we will consider all classes.
