Bamboo Architecture and Environmental Design Farming Opportunity in Ecuador!

Bamboo Architecture and Environmental Design Farming Opportunity in Ecuador! Winter Break Dates January 5-15th for 2 units of credit, Summer Dates on website. 7 spots left and filling fast!

This winter, Regeneration Field Institute (RFI) is offering opportunities for university students to collaborate with our coalition of builders and community members striving to rebuild communities with sustainable green technology through harnessing the power and strength of locally sourced species of bamboo in both urban city and rural agricultural regions. Students will receive lessons and instruction from world-renowned Ecuadorian architectural professors, carpenters, and bamboo farmers who have been actively rebuilding since the earthquake, as well as have the opportunity to collaborate with local university engineering and architecture students.

Students will also be instructed in the use of tools with the ultimate goal of building a community structure and help develop our new ecological education center, bamboo treatment and training facility, and agroforestry cultivation operations in the rural agricultural region of Chone. This winter's build will be at an emergency temporary school where over 900+ children and adults are now attending school and is part of a national spotlight that will help push the Ecuadorian government to push forward a country-wide bamboo reconstruction of all schools that were destroyed in the 7.8 magnitude 2016 earthquakes. See more information on registration, payment, the people behind our movement, photo gallery of our constructions, and more here on our website!
