We're Looking For a Leader!

The College of Environmental Design Office of Undergraduate Advising is seeking a charismatic and highly organized Community Fellow to assist in the planning, implementation, and promotion of programming that will help foster personal wellness, academic support, and social engagement among undergraduates within the college. Under the supervision of the Community Fellows Coordinator, Rhommel Canare, the fellow serves as an ambassador for CED undergraduates and will assist with coordinating, managing, and host a variety of programs for students in the college. 

Responsibilities include:
• monthly undergraduate social events or workshops
• two yearly student leader luncheons
• organize student groups’ participation in yearly events such as Welcome Week and Cal Day

• assist Undergraduate Advising Office in Welcome Week & Cal Day Activities 
• manage communications and the master calendar among the various CED and student group events

• initiate a personal project that aims to benefit the CED community and address any or all of the following areas--personal wellness, academic support, and social engagement

  1. Qualify for Work-Study-- have a minimum of $2,700 of work-study awarded for the academic year  (Required)
  2. Be a CED undergraduate student for the academic year of 2018-2019 (Required)
  3. Be outgoing & self-starter--willing to build relationships and network (Required)
  4. Able to work without direct supervision while maintaining consistent communication with supervisor
  5. Time-management skills--able to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously 
  6. Skilled with Google Drive, Google Calendars, and social networking tools such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  7. Excellent flyer design skills--ability to conceive original designs for marketing purposes and execute within deadlines (high desired, but not completely necessary)
  • $13.75 per hour (subject to increase due to minimum wage changes)
  • 20-30 Hours per month (5 to 7.5 hours per week)
