Leadership and Community Engagement Grants Application Now Open!

Leadership and Community Engagement Grants Application Now Open!

EOP Leadership and Community Engagement Grants aim to recognize and support a diverse group of low-income UC Berkeley students. Over one hundred $400 grants will be awarded to low-income undergraduates who are committed to contributing and providing leadership to their EOP community. This year, EOP Leadership and Community Engagement Grants will focus on recognizing efforts to support first semester EOP students.
To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be considered a low-income undergraduate (all students who are eligible for pell grant or dream act scholarship financial aid are considered so).
- Plan to be enrolled at Berkeley in Fall 2017.
- Display significant contributions to the EOP undergraduate community at Berkeley, particularly to first semester students.
Examples of "significant contributions to the EOP undergraduate community" include:
- Being selected to serve as a "Golden Bear Orientation (GBO)" Leader. GBO Leaders are part of a team of UC Berkeley students who work collaboratively to welcome, orient, and educate new students to campus. Orientation Leaders will guide a small group of students through their Golden Bear Orientation (GBO) experience, helping them explore academic life, involvement, the diverse community, and everything that UC Berkeley has to offer. To apply, go to http://nss.berkeley.edu/
- Volunteering for or creating a program/initiative that targets first semester EOP students.

As a follow up, there will be an info session held on Thurs Feb 16th, 630pm in the Unit 1 all purpose room) where students can learn more about the EOP grants and the GBO leader position.
