Acoustic Arts- Part Time Position

Acoustic Arts and Engineering provides acoustic consulting for architectural projects with special requirements for room acoustics, sound isolation, noise control, and MEP systems noise and vibration control. We are a growing consulting practice. Project types include corporate headquarters, master planning, health care, educational/research, residential, and performing arts spaces.

We are located 5 minutes from UC Berkeley campus.

A part-time position is available for an entry level technical assistant with a background and/or academic studies in architectural design, room acoustics, technical building systems (MEP, AV, etc), and/or music performance. Candidates should have strong math/technical skills, and good and graphic communication skills.

Responsibilities/Description/Role:
Read and understand architectural and construction drawings
Read and understand technical building system documents including MEP, audio, and theatrical systems
Organize design information for analysis
Develop spreadsheets, tables, and use various calculation tools to analyze sound fields and noise emissions.
Develop technical acoustic details and graphics
Assist in the preparation of reports, and graphic recommendations
Assist in acoustic measurement and data analysis.
