OUTDOOR SUMMER SCIENCE CAMP COUNSELOR

Qualifications:
Must be a UC Berkeley student. Enjoy teaching young children and have experience planning and directing children's activities in a group setting. Knowledge of plants, botany, ecology and/or gardening. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Must be highly motivated, responsible and dependable.

Job Description:
Under direction, plan, organize, and conduct a variety of activities for children that will teach about and build upon their knowledge and love of plants. Prepare daily schedules and lesson plans for a series of week-long camps, 5 hours per day, structuring activities such as discovery walks, basic botany, arts and crafts, stories, planting, nature studies and our curriculum for both 5 - 7 year old and the 8 - 10 year old age groups. With a co-counselor, assume responsibility for the safety, comfort, and smooth running educational activities of the children at all times. 
Flexible start time mid-May.  Last day of camp August 17, 2012. $12/hr.
