New Summer Course: Zero Energy Building

If you're going to be around for the summer consider taking a new class called Zero Energy Building. It's going to be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9pm so that it will not conflict with day jobs.

This introduction to zero energy building will focus on the central role that architecture plays relative to energy demand and production. Accessible to students and professionals in all fields and backgrounds, the class will explore how and why buildings use energy, ways of reducing consumption, and methods for supplying and storing energy in a sustainable fashion. Students will learn to analyze existing buildings for their energy use and then propose measures to reduce net energy consumption using parametric analysis to understand cost, comfort, and energy.
Students and professionals in all fields are welcome. No prior knowledge is required. This class will count toward the sustainability minor.
