[BERC Undergrad] Biofuels Lifecycle Assessment with Professor Arpad Horvath

Dear Sustainable Student Leaders, Major Advisors, and Professors,

Hello again, this is Jeffrey Wong from BERC (Berkeley Energy and Resources Collaborative) Undergrad.  This week, we have another exciting event featuring Professor Arpad Horvath discussing biofuel lifecycle assessments.  Read more below and please share as widely as possible within your respective constituents.  Thank you!

Biofuels Lifecycle Assessment Talk (with Prof. Horvath)

Are you interested in learning more about biofuels? Biofuels are a hot topic when it comes to ongoing efforts to make our energy supply more secure and sustainable.  But are they a wise choice when you consider their cradle-to-grave environmental impacts?

BERC Undergrad is pleased to welcome Professor Arpad Horvath, of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, for a talk on Life-cycle Environmental Assessment of Biofuels.  The talk will take place on Wednesday, April 18th from 6-7 pm at Haas C320.
This event, aimed at the undergraduate level, is part of an ongoing Speaker Series that will try to address the following questions: What are the resource inputs for various energy sources, and their waste outputs, and how do these compare between energy sources? How can this inform our decisions regarding which energy sources are best from the standpoint of efficient use of resources?
